"During each counseling session with Nancy, I felt very welcome, safe and comfortable.  I was pleased with both the quality of service I received and the high standard of professionalism exhibited.  Nancy's ability to incorporate faith and spirituality into the counseling process was much needed and resulted in a level of healing I would have never received without those components.  I highly recommend Nancy Nichols to anyone seeking counseling services."   (Maine)

Life can be difficult.  People can be confusing.  Situations can feel hopeless.

But, don't lose hope.   And never give up!

Sometimes we just need to find someone to talk to.

And when you are ready, I'll be here to help.

As a licensed clinical therapist, I provide professional mental health services to a wide variety of clients.  My theoretical approach to treatment includes:

Cognitive-behavioral therapy - examines negative thought patterns that individuals may have about themselves, others, or the world at large.

Positive psychology -  assists in identifying a client's unique strengths and aids folks in discovering a renewed sense of purpose and personal fulfillment.  It's all about discovering a live worth living to the fullest.

As a complement to traditional mental health services, I am pleased to offer Christian counseling services to individuals who wish to integrate their Christian faith with their healing process.  As a clinical counselor and ordained ministry leader, I recognize that many individuals desire a safe setting in which to explore life's challenges in light of their personal values and beliefs.

Christian Counseling services are provided upon request and are designed to meet the specific needs of our clients.  Incorporating the clear direction and basic principles of Scripture, faith based services are founded upon a distinctly biblical approach to treatment and will provide strategic principles to aid you in your unique situation.

Whether you are dealing with past hurts, anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, communication problems, conflicts, relationships, financial challenges, or questions of spirituality - I am committed to providing you with the highest level of customer care.   My desire is to demonstrate Christ's love to each client through unconditional regard, honesty and compassion - regardless of individual belief systems.

On a general note, please take time in selecting a counselor to assist you with life's challenges.  Be aware of who you allow to speak into the private areas of your life.  How will you ascertain whether your mental health provider, your counselor and/or your clergy member are emotionally, relationally, and spiritually healthy in their own lives?  How important is it to you that your counselor share a similar world view to your own?  Never be afraid to ask questions during your screening process.

When you've made your decision, feel free to give me a call.  Together, as client and therapist, we will focus on holistic health care - caring for your body, soul and spirit.

If you would like more information, or would like to schedule an appointment, please fill out the online request form, send me an email, or simply call my office at 207.768.3400.  I'll look forward to hearing from you!
